San Juan's Day/Summer Solstice Sing!

  • Bear Wallow Meadow East Upper Bear Wallow Road AZ, 85619 United States (map)
Vibrant Sonoran desert scene with monsoon clouds approaching, saguaros, and prickly pear fruit.

On Saturday, June 24th (San Juan's Day & the traditionally-celebrated beginning of monsoon season), we will be holding a very special song circle on Mt. Lemmon to call in the rains and celebrate the Summer Solstice.

"The annual tradition of celebrating the onset of monsoon season in the Southwest begins with San Juan’s Day or Dia de San Juan on June 24. San Juan’s Day is the feast day for St. John the Baptist, the patron saint of water. The monsoons are coming and soon the life giving water from the sky will bless our parched ground."
